Stella Lap Steel Guitar with Horseshoe Pickup - Circa 1936 Pretty rare & hard to come by, this was the 1st one we’d had opportunity to play. I bought it because I was so impressed with how well this pickup performs. I’m not surprised to find it has exemplary sound & tone. Clean, clear and great sustain with the amp set that way, but indefinite sustain & harmonics when overdriven. I even got great harmonic, easily controlled feedback when I set up for it. This baby exemplifies why I like horseshoe pups so much. We generally prefer Horseshoe Pickups or at least string through p’ups. These are designed for a strong magnetic field that surrounds the strings; that counters a directional pull that dampens vibration & it allows for increased sustain. This guitar is in good shape with the only notable issue being authentic relic character-adding dings that show in the photos. The case is also in good condition. *Please see our other listings and store for many other Vintage (Lap Steel) Guitars and Amplifiers.
